Summer is the perfect time to adopt VoIP solutions, it has been claimed.

Many firms have busy schedules during the season and workers are often required to travel to complete business deals.

Bruce Chatterley, chief executive officer at VoIP provider Speakeasy, claimed the technology can allow remote employees to maintain contact with the office.

He said: "Employees and executives are finding it easier to work away from the office with hosted voice, thanks to advanced mobility features such as remote office, which allows people to use their corporate number on any phone while enjoying reduced calling rates for long distance."

Mr Chatterley also noted how users can have their calls forwarded to their mobile phone with the firm's find me/follow me feature.

Speakeasy is currently offering free VoIP hardware to new customers, which could boost VoIP traffic in the region.

Those who sign up to the firm before the end of August will receive a free Polycom SoundPoint IP 321 VoIP-enabled phone.
