Firms can 'profit' from HD VoIP solutions

Firms can improve efficiency by introducing High Definition (HD) VoIP solutions, it has been claimed.

HD IP telephony solutions can carry a broader resolution of sound, enabling users to clearly understand each other during a conversation.

Doug Allen, senior editor of phoneplusmag.com, expressed his belief that businesses can benefit from better quality voice communication

"This leads to easier and faster communication, which in turn speeds up the overall pace of business," he said.

Multi-national companies using the technology can also profit as improved sound clarity will help users discern strong international accents.

Mr Allen compared the leap in quality from standard VoIP calls to those using HD technology.

He said: "As with HD TV, the difference between a typical VoIP call and an HD call is a quantum leap in quality, or in this case, call clarity, audibility and an overall better user experience on the phone."

HD VoIP was initially launched in 2006 by telecommunications provider Polycom.
