A new range of Wi-Fi equipment has been introduced in India which could increase VoIP traffic in the country.

Belkin has launched its NetNext Wi-Fi series - a range of routers and wireless USB adapters aimed at consumers.

The new products could increase the number of VoIP hardware users as more people will have access to wireless networks in their homes.

Mohit Anand, managing director Belkin, Indian Sub Continent, claimed the new technology would be "user friendly".

He said: "With this new path-breaking innovative product offering Belkin will be able to provide a world class, simple to set up, fast, reliable and secure wireless consumer experience."

All of the devices are fitted with a self-healing feature that automatically detects and fixes any connection problems.

Furthermore, Belkin has around 50 customer service centres located around the country to resolve any network issues.
