Unified Communications boom good news for VoIP solutionsPosted 1 year 10 months ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2010-06-25 Rate this article: The number of smaller firms adopting Unified Communications (UC) is rising, according to a new report.
Frost & Sullivan revealed that more small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are turning to UC to compete with their larger rivals. Businesses that deploy UC can make large savings on infrastructure costs as all forms of communication are operated using a single package. The findings could be good news for the VoIP solutions industry as IP telephony solutions are a crucial component of any firm's UC strategy. Dorota Oviedo, industry analyst for Unified Communications and Collaboration group, claimed all companies can benefit from introducing the technology. She said: "After decades of being rather neglected by the enterprise communications vendors, the small and medium enterprise sector has recently become the target for a wave of products catered to its needs." Travel costs can be reduced with UC, and increased use of the technology could also cut down carbon dioxide emissions. © Adfero LtdRelated articlesShareComments![]() Peter Kerr 1 year 10 months ago Really interesting piece. I think we all need to explore new ways of working that integrate both social media and the benefits of unified communications. For this to happen we need to encourage SME's to think differently about how they work and how they retain and attract talent. Sadly, some owner managers are more comfortable with old problems than embracing new ways of solving them. New comments* Comments may be moderated. |
