High-speed broadband plans likely to enhance IP telephony coveragePosted 1 year 8 months ago in: Broadband ![]() Telappliant News: 2010-06-11 Rate this article: IP telephony will play a major role in boosting the Romanian telecoms sector over the next five years, a new report has concluded. Growing numbers of eastern European consumers and businesses are turning to the IP telephony solutions due to their many advantages, a newly-released study suggests. Analysing the prospects for the telecommunications market in Romania, the new report from Research and Markets stated that, as the country rebounds from a recent economic recession, demand for telephony and broadband internet connections will soar over the next couple of years. Notably, the company's research has led it to conclude that Romania will continue to establish itself as "one of the four largest telecommunications markets in Europe", with this growth set to be largely driven by voice over internet protocol (VoIP) solutions. "The fastest-growing segments will be VoIP, mobile data and fixed broadband, each of which will experience double-digit growth during the forecast [five year] period," the report states. This latest insight into the Romanian telecommunications market comes soon after a separate Research and Markets report noted that around 20 million Americans now make use of IP telephony solutions on a regular basis. That number is expected to grow even more over the next few years. Related articlesShareComments![]() Be the first to write a comment! New comments* Comments may be moderated. |
