VoIP solutions in Lincolnshire could be set to improve following the expected expansion of fibre-optic broadband in the area.

Fibrestream, the technology specialist, is connecting Lincolnshire residents to its 100Mbps broadband network and has recently released an aerial shot of the next district to receive the technology.

The small parish villages of Ashby de la Launde and Bloxholm appear to be pictured, which would connect an estimated 796 people to the super-fast network.

Rural customers and businesses will therefore be able to access improved VoIP solutions as the faster network would allow for advanced call quality and connectivity.

Guy Jarvis, chief executive of FibreStream, expressed his belief that fibre-optic broadband could easily be deployed throughout Lincolnshire.

He told the BBC website: "Old railway tracks provide a ready-made corridor for fibre".

More villages in Lincolnshire are expected to have access to next-generation broadband in the future.
