VoIP solutions set for further security boost

A US communication security firm has raised significant funds to improve its VoIP security solutions.

Sipera received around $10 million (£7 million) from technology investment firms, including S3 Ventures, to further develop its communication security software.

Brian R. Smith, managing director of S3 Ventures, clamed that it was an ideal time for Sipera to expand its service as the VoIP industry is booming.
He added: "Sipera is at the forefront of Unified Communications (UC) security solutions, including most recently protecting smartphones to enable safe, enterprise-class VoIP and UC for employees on the go."

Smartphone users can benefit from the company's security package, which enables an enterprise to securely manage IP telephony solutions and UC on an employee's smartphone in any location.

A growing number of firms are switching to UC as it allows users to integrate and manage all forms of telephony communication with e-mail and fax.
