VoIP phone call recordings have become an integral part of police investigations, according to technology website TMCnet.com.

Gloucestershire Constabulary has introduced the technology to gain faster access to all telephone and radio communication in its contact center.

Susan Campbell, writing for TMC.com, highlighted how the technology can significantly decrease the time spent on investigations.

She wrote: "[VoIP call recordings have] reduced the time necessary for officers to produce evidence files for the criminal justice system from the tapes of 999 calls. This also helped to speed up criminal investigations."

High-quality VoIP call recordings can be located in a matter of minutes, while they can also be sent directly to criminal courts via e-mail.

The service is not just restricted to police forces, as many financial institutions can benefit from its implementation.

VoIP recordings are integrated with a quality management system, which ensures high-levels of customer service are maintained throughout any organisation.
