Integrated VoIP solutions to 'benefit' smaller businesses

Smaller businesses could profit from the integration of VoIP solutions with other forms of communication, according to experts.

Businesses that implement a Unified Communications (UC) network can become more efficient by incorporating all forms of communication, such as IP telephony solutions and e-mail, into one system.

Jonathan McCormick, writing for online magazine eweek.com, claimed that smaller businesses can enjoy the benefits of UC.

He said: "Hosted UC solutions can bring the capabilities and benefits of UC to small to medium-sized businesses, allowing them to enjoy boosted business productivity with low cost and simplified management."

Companies will also use less power and enjoy long-term savings as a result of the reduction in hardware and software costs.

MobileVoIP hardware users, such as remote employees, can also benefit from UC as the system is not limited to physical locations.

Independent consultancy firm Ovum recently found that 40 per cent of companies have already began plans to implement UC.
