ITSPA launches VoIP phones directory

The Internet Telephony Services Providers' Association (ITSPA) has launched a UK and EU VoIP provider database to assist the rising take up of VoIP phones.

The ITSPA Directory aims to make searches easier and allow users to track down products that suit their needs. It will also help the VoIP carrier community locate specific services.

The database, launched at the ITSPA HD Voice Workshop, will incorporate sections on residential and business IP telephony solutions along with resources specific to trade.

Eli Katz, chairman of ITSPA, said: "ITSPA has responded to the increasing diversity of products and services entering the VoIP market by creating a place for customers to find their ideal VoIP product or service".

He added that he hoped the directory will become "a first port of call" for businesses and individuals and provide a guide to services as adoption of VoIP solutions accelerates.

Adoption of IP telephony solutions could benefit from the continuing and vigorous increase in broadband take up.

Fixed broadband is still growing robustly, with fixed broadband subscribers totalling over 430 million in 2009, ABI Research said recently.
