Dell enables high quality VoIP solutions

Dell has launched a new range of laptops that could encourage increased adoption of IP telephony solutions by business users.

The IT corporation's three new laptops are aimed at the corporate world and incorporate features that enable them to be used as users' primary means of communication, VentureBeat has said.

The devices come with digital array microphones - a network of sound sensors -to improve the sound capturing capabilities for VoIP solutions, according to the technology, money and innovation news website.

"These features are becoming commonplace as corporations seek to simplify communications and cut costs", Dean Takahashi, lead writer for GamesBeat at VentureBeat, writes.

The three new laptops are the 14-inch screen E6410, the 15-inch screen E6510, and the all-terrain E6410ATG, designed to compete in the rugged environment niche currently dominated by Panasonic.

Patrick Burns, senior product marketing manager at Dell, said that the laptops are designed to focus on mobile collaboration and ease of use. They feature a button allowing instant access to email or corporate websites before the machine is booted.

Businesses are revaluating their telecommunications infrastructure and looking to VoIP phones to reduce their costs post-recession, VoIP business solutions provider Telappliant said recently.
