Recession sees businesses turn to VoIP solutionsPosted 1 year 9 months ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2010-04-09 Rate this article: Businesses are revaluating their telecommunications infrastructure and looking to IP telephony solutions to reduce their costs post-recession, Telappliant has said. Tan Aksoy, CEO and founding director of the VoIP business solutions provider, said: "The recession has actually caused businesses to rethink their telecom expenses". Enterprises are looking at the bigger picture following the economic downturn and are realising that they can cut their telecom costs by replacing traditional communications systems with VoIP solutions, he explained. "If anything, the recession has kicked customers to take a new look at the whole internet telephony proposition," Mr Aksoy said, adding that VoIP enquiries in 2010 were coming from "people looking to save costs, people looking to work smarter". Mr Aksoy was speaking at UC Expo, a business communications event which took place in London last month and showcased the next-generation of communications solutions. One-third of all VoIP phones revenue will be generated by business use of IP telephony solutions by 2014, market research and consulting firm Infonetics Research said recently. Residential and home office use of VoIP solutions will make up three-quarters of VoIP provider revenue this year, but income from business VoIP has begun to pick up following the recession.
