A survey by iBAHN has found that 72 per cent of surveyed individuals are concerned about the UK's broadband network, showing that the market could be ripe for the development of networks to support better VoIP traffic.

The 10yearsofBroadband survey ran from February through to March 2010, targeting the UK broadband user community.

It aimed to identify future broadband challenges and gathered feedback on issues such as connection speeds, network limits, security, government intervention and the state of play in the devices and applications sector.

Ultimately, the results showed that 38 per cent of users were concerned about the UK network's ability to deal with data traffic. However, the next government, irrespective of party, is likely to invest heavily in the UK's broadband infrastructure, showing that this is a temporary situation and that VoIP traffic is assured of a freely flowing future.
