Norfolk is in danger of falling behind when it comes to
broadband deployment, the Eastern Daily Press (EDP) has explained.
Covering the reactions of campaigners to Gordon Brown's plans for super-fast broadband, the EDP has reported that parts of rural Norfolk are lagging when it comes to broadband availability.
According to Nicola Currie, eastern region director of the CLA (Country Land and Business Association), "one-third of the country cannot receive a basic level of broadband, with Norfolk particularly affected".
Campaigners hope that broadband will be pushed as a priority for the region. Chris Starkie, chief executive of Shaping Norfolk's Future, said: "We recognise the importance of improving access to, and speed of, broadband in Norfolk and that's why it's such a priority for shaping Norfolk's future."
