200Mbps to be shown at Ideal Home Show

Virgin Media are to show off 200Mbps broadband at the Ideal Home show, offering users a chance to witness a truly next-generation VoIP traffic supporting broadband network, it has been widely reported.

With many ISPs and the Conservative party currently trumpeting plans for advanced 100Mbps networks, the demonstration of a 200Mbps one will allow users to discover the types of benefits that truly advanced broadband can bring.

Applications include multiple VoIP voice and video connections operating over one connection in seamless parallel processing, allowing for a single connection to provide an office or a home with broadband sufficient for multiple VoIP users.

The Virgin demonstration will also serve as a public proof of concept for the technology, demonstrating a means of supporting advanced VoIP traffic in a public environment.
