The overarching importance of broadband was stressed recently by Steve Roberts, a farmer who highlighted the importance that broadband and other communication solutions which allow for VoIP traffic hold for him.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mr Roberts stressed the importance which connectivity holds for him. He explained that he used the internet for
gaining applications for passports for his cattle as well as filing VAT returns.

The intenet was incredibly important to him; however, his local provider shut off his internet, citing lack of demand as the reason.

Chairman of the local Young Farmers' Club, he explained to the Daily Mail that: "We may be farmers but we do a lot of our work online.

"Applying for cattle passports for every single animal will take forever with a dial-up connection and there's no way I'll be able to do my work with the Young Farmers without broadband. I'll probably have to step down."

This problem highlights the importance of connective, VoIP traffic-supporting networks to day-to-day life and goes to show that broadband
connectivity is crucial for much of the modern economy.
