Virgin Media have launched a new range of Virgin Media travel passes,
designed to make it easier - and cheaper - to surf the web when abroad and operate networks with heavy VoIP traffic.

The travel passes operate at a flat-rate of one pound per megabyte and users can turn on the daily pass by texting a number to their phone.

Mobilebroadband allows people to use the internet when on the move and many modern smartphones come with the ability to host VoIP applications, allowing users to be connected to their standard VoIP mailbox number while travelling across the continent.

Jonathan Kini, director of mobile at Virgin Media said: "Virgin Media
customers never have to worry about accessing the internet while they're
abroad.

"Whether it's searching for the best pizzeria in Rome on your mobile or
uploading photos onto Facebook with a laptop and mobile broadband, customers now have control over what they spend on holiday."

The travel passes should help users sustain VoIP traffic on their phones
while on the move and broadens the mobile opportunities available to VoIP
users across the continent.
