The market for VoIP solutions in Europe is undercapitalised, as shown by figures released by Eurostat (January 19th 2010).

Figures released by Eurostat have shown that eight out of ten organisations use broadband to access the internet, while a further three in ten connect via mobile broadband as well.

All you need for a VoIP connection is a broadband line and a low-end computer, so the figures indicate a very large potential subscriber base for VoIP in the European Union.

Overall, 93 per cent of firms surveyed had access to the internet. Of these, Eurostat published further figures breaking down the fraction of revenue each firm earns from electronic sales. Companies in the accommodation and travel agency sectors sold 36 and 41 per cent of their products (respectively) through electronic sales while the largest buyers via electronic sales were companies in the electronics and ICT sector.

Over 60 per cent of large businesses connected to the internet via mobile internet, the survey showed, showing that there is again a large potential market for VoIP on the go.
