Survey: 44% of UK businesses boosting operations with mobile broadbandPosted 8 months 2 weeks ago in: Broadband ![]() Telappliant News: 2009-12-23 Rate this article: Mobile broadband technology has benefitted 44 per cent of UK businesses in recent months, according to new research from major internet service provider O2. According to the company, 65 per cent of small businesses also believe investment in technology has resulted in greater success, while 16 per cent of all businesses surveyed plan to increase their technology investment in 2010. The technology enables businesses to operate remote working practices, which can help introduce more flexible conditions for employees and can also mean firms can save money on office space. Simon Devonshire, head of small business marketing at O2, said: "While many investment plans have needed to take a back seat this year, the best small businesses are aware that cutting back on technology is simply not an option." A greater take-up of mobile broadband could encourage more businesses to adopt VoIP solutions and pursue communications savings. The government has pledged to deliver universal connectivity by 2012.
