Popularity of UC technology could benefit VoIP solutionsPosted 2 years 1 month ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2009-12-14 Rate this article: More people could start using VoIP solutions as unified communications (UC) technology continues to grow in popularity, new research suggests. VoIP solutions use the internet to provide low-cost and even free communications and an increase in the value of the UC market through the third quarter of this year could result in more businesses choosing to take advantage of the technology. Diane Myers, a directing analyst at Infonetics Research, said businesses could decide to expand their usage of VoIP hardware with large investment in UC systems. Ms Myers said: "The growth in enterprise adoption of VoIP on the premises will in the long-term have a positive impact on carriers as businesses look to extend VoIP from the premises to the wide area." There was a ten per cent rise in the number of internet protocol phones sold in the second quarter of this year, according to figures from the Dell'Oro Group.
