Broadband network handles new game 'without problems'Posted 9 months 2 weeks ago in: Broadband ![]() Telappliant News: 2009-11-17 Rate this article: The UK's broadband network appears to have handled a new computer game featuring an internet-based multiplayer mode without any problems. There had been concerns that the massive popularity of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 would cause problems with Britain's broadband network due to the sheer number of people looking to play the game online, but so far there have been no problems, reports Techwatch. Online gaming has become popular in recent years as faster broadband services have enabled better connections and people across the world are now able to play against each other. Faster services could also allow consumers to use VoIP solutions more effectively, helping them communicate cheaply with friends, family and colleagues around the world. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 caused controversy in the lead-up to its release owing to content where the player infiltrates a terrorist cell as an undercover agent and is encouraged to kill civilians. The first games in the Call of Duty series were set during the Second World War.
