More than 80 per cent of buyers want details of a property's broadband connection quality to be included on relevant adverts, according to new research.

Comparison website Broadband Expert also found that almost half of all the estate agents surveyed had been asked about the quality of broadband services in a given property, while nearly 80 per cent of prospective buyers would reconsider an offer if they knew broadband coverage was poor.

The figures reveal how crucial good broadband services are to the everyday lives of consumers in the modern world.

Rob Webber, commercial director at Broadband Expert, said: "The internet has become such a vital part of people's work and home lifestyles, why shouldn't broadband speed be advertised up-front in the buying process?"

Many businesses rely on high-speed broadband services to retain their competitive edge, while the performance of VoIP hardware can also be improved with faster connections.

Service quality can be affected by a range of factors, including how far a user is from the nearest telephone exchange.
