VoIP provider Vyke has announced it expects to see a strong performance over the rest of 2009 as the technology continues to remain in demand despite the global recession.

Announcing a wider full-year loss due to acquisitions, the company said nevertheless that the VoIP market is doing well and it expects to deliver results in line with its original expectations over the course of 2009.

"We are optimistic about the organic and acquisitive growth opportunities currently available in the market," said Vyke chairman Tommy Jensen.

Many businesses are seeking to use VoIP solutions during the economic downturn as a way to cut overall costs and improve communication both within their organisations and when dealing with customers and clients.

VoIP has become an increasingly mainstream tool for businesses and individuals alike as access to high-speed broadband services becomes more widespread.
