Value added resellers (VAR) have been enjoying the benefits of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) as a valued and cost effective solution, an expert claims.

Buck Baker, president of ScanSource Communications, recently told Business Solutions that VoIP is an area "in which we expect to see an increase in implementations".

Mr Buck explained this is because VARs and end users are realising the values and cost-cutting benefits of adopting the communications technology.

"VARs need to continue to talk to their end user customers about the total cost of ownership of moving to VoIP instead of having separate systems," he explained.

"They need to continuously be in front of the end user so that they can put together a road map for creating a successful VoIP solution."

Stephanie Viscusi, TMCnet.com assignment desk editor, recently claimed that more businesses are deploying VoIP as a way to save money during the global economic downturn.
