More consumers are opting for short-term
mobilebroadband deals as a cost-saving option while the economy continues to worsen, new research suggests.
According to a survey by Top 10
Broadband, many customers are taking out one-month contracts to avoid the cost of being locked into long-term arrangements.
The research predicts that in that next six months, one-month
mobilebroadband contracts will account for 20 per cent of the market.
Jessica McArdle, marketing manager at Top 10
Broadband, said: "One-month
mobilebroadband deals are soaring in popularity during the current recession, as wary users shun long-term
broadband contracts in favour of 'light' commitments."
"Last year,
mobilebroadband changed the UK
broadband industry forever. Now, with new one-month deals,
mobilebroadband is continuing to cause game-changing shockwaves," she added.
