Consumers are often failing to make the most of broadband deals bundled with other services such as telephone and television, new research suggests.

According to SimplifyDigital.co.uk, people have the potential to save around £30 on average per month by opting for a bundled package incorporating telephone, digital TV and broadband.

However, research conducted by the website has indicated that one in four users still opt to get these services separately from individual providers.

Charlie Ponsonby, chief executive of SimplifyDigital, told the Independent that users generally acquire each service "organically over time".

"They get a BT home line, Sky TV and then they see an advert for a broadband provider," he explained.

Mr Ponsonby added that the market is "full of confusing jargon," which can often baffle consumers about what is the right solution for them.

"On top of this, we reckon there are some 15,000 different deals out there, so it's easy to see why many consumers find it hard to know what's what," he added.

A survey recently conducted by internet service provider Pipex revealed that around two thirds of small businesses in the UK rely on a home broadband connection for their daily operations.
