Businesses should adopt a more gradual approach to the deployment of unified communications (UC) such as VoIP, a leading expert claims.

Telecoms analyst Tony Bradley told Redmondmag.com that VoIP is leading the way within unified communication as it can draw together voice, IP and IT infrastructure.

The technology can bring significant cost benefits to business users, as well as offering improvements to productivity.

However, Mr Bradley has urged enterprises to take a step by step strategy when introducing the communications solution instead of a sudden shift to full service.

He has recommended that businesses should "eat the proverbial elephant one bite at a time" when it comes to their UC strategy, as this approach will deliver greater scope for troubleshooting.

"A phased implementation allows time to ensure that one component is integrated and functioning properly before moving on to the next one," Mr Bradley added.

According to Bytestart.co.uk, VoIP technology can offer significant functions to improve and enhance business efficiency and productivity.
