A new 24Mbps ADSL2 broadband service has been launched which is aimed solely at Mac computer owners.

The package is being offered by Mac broadband specialist MacAce and is available via 145 newly enabled exchanges in British Telecom's 21st Century Network.

More exchanges will reportedly be available during the next three years, which will further expand the service's availability.

Gary Hall, MacAce founder and managing director, said the company is "excited" to be able to offer Mac users a "faster broadband experience".

"We achieve this by offering simple to use but robustly reliable services backed up with expert advice and support," he explained.

"This has allowed us to maintain growth and continue to be at the cutting edge of internet services with wholly organic investment."

Mobile technology giant Motorola has started testing 4G long-term evolution broadband which could deliver speeds of up to 100Mbps if it reaches commercial application.
