New developments in VoIP technology will make the service more effective and attractive for business customers, a leading expert claims.

Writing on TMC.net, internet expert Susan Campbell said that companies were initially wary of upgrading their legacy telephone network when VoIP was first introduced.

However, the roll out of wideband VoIP business telephony has meant that firms can experience "the clearest phone calls ever available".

"Much has changed since the early years of VoIP and it has now become an accepted communication channel within the enterprise and the home," Ms Campbell explained.

"Now, VoIP providers are rolling out support for wideband business phone systems and those subscribers with the right equipment can enjoy the clearest phone calls ever available."

She added that the new technology ensures "corporate users can rely on new tools to increase productivity while also building stronger rapport with callers over clear connections".

According to research conducted by Networkworld.com, the cost saving benefit remains the most attractive feature of VoIP services.
