A new eBook on managing VoIP on a network has been released by a network performance management provider.

'Do You See what I'm Saying? Managing VoIP Quality of Experience on Your Network', from NetQoS, aims to provide network managers with information on how to maintain VoIP quality of experience and also features information on deploying unified communications (UC) systems.

The eBook is written by Jeff Hicks, a VoIP expert and software architect from the company.

Its chapters include identifying vital performance metrics, how UC applications can affect the performance of the network and likely locations of problems.

"Network convergence is forcing network managers to have specialised application expertise they didn't need in the past," said Mr Hicks.

"This eBook equips the network manager with the knowledge needed to be successful in managing VoIP quality of experience on the network, which is the first step down the path toward truly unified communications."

NetQoS claims that its Performance Centre product is used by half of the Fortune 100, the top 100 public corporations in the USA, as ranked by Fortune magazine.
