Tiscali to sue BT?Posted 3 years 6 months ago in: Broadband ![]() Telappliant News: 2008-07-18 Rate this article: BT may have legal action taken against it by broadband provider Tiscali after a letter, which ISPReview have obtained, was sent to Tiscali customers. Beginning with the heading "Tiscali chief plots sell-off", the letter claimed that the ISP did not have a great future ahead of it. The letter was also sent to Tiscali associates Pipex and Nildram. It reads: "We can understand why you're wondering what might happen to your Tiscali broadband service. "And because no-one really knows the answer just yet, it could be a good time to look for an alternative broadband service." Customers are then told how they can switch to BT broadband. The letter is playing on an announcement by Italian company Tiscali in January that it was to sell its broadband operations in the UK within the next two years. However, Tommaso Pompei, the company's chief executive, stressed that the company was still doing well and was not currently for sale.
