Vodafone is offering existing customers a £50 discount on the price of a USB dongle as the mobile operator strives to steal market share from its rivals.

Consumers already signed up to the network's phone services will now be able buy a USB modem stick from just £49, down from £99.

Vodafone's mobile broadband connections offer download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps, which is twice as fast as customers with 3 can achieve.

This price cut come after the firm introduced three new packages in April.

These include a 3GB mobile broadband deal priced at £15.00 per month on 12/18/24 month contracts, a similar offering at £20.00 per month for customers on 30 day contracts and a 5GB service at £25.00 per month on 12/18/24 month contract.

Vodafone also plans to extend its broadband network across Birmingham, Bristol, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and Reading later this autumn.
