Voice over internet protocol (VoIP) phone manufacturer snom technology ag has reportedly signed a deal with computer telephony integration (CTI) software developer Camrivox to bring an online product for its users.

Comms Business says the new CTI system will be delivered over the web and will make on-demand CRM tools available to snom's IP phones regardless of the private branch exchange (PBX) used.

According to Camrivox, the product will also link up with the user's CRM and email applications, allowing them to use click-to-dial and on-screen telephony control. The company says this will help to improve customer retention for sales teams and will result in greater return on investment in the tool.

Camrivox chief executive Malcolm Wood said the new tool would provide CRM tools at a "fraction of the cost" of server-based CTI.

Dr Michael Knieling, snom's executive vice-president of marketing and sales, added that the product provides "unique added-value" to customers and ensures productivity at "the highest level".

Snom, which was founded in 1996, develops VoIP products for clients including small to medium-sized businesses, internet service providers and home office workers. It currently works in over 20 countries.
