While the majority of VoIP hardware has been developed for PC users, manufacturer Ipevo has unveiled a new range of devices aimed specifically at the Mac audience.

Announcing a range of products at the recent MacWorld conference in San Francisco, California, Ipevo vice-president and general manager Ed Lucero suggested that the marriage between the style of Apple Mac and the usefulness of VoIP could prove successful.

"Mac users are always looking for the perfect blend of form and function," he said.

"The Ipevo philosophy is that smart design takes the complexity out of technology - essentially making it second nature."

Among the products launched by Ipevo is a universal VoIP handset for connection to IP telephony via a Mac, along with a USB handset for use on Apple's range of laptops.

However, the main launch product was a VoIP conference station aimed at being the hub of all communications at a firm, as it boasts business quality voice service that is compatible with numerous consumer VoIP applications, as well as enterprise systems.
