VoIP provider Mediatrix has announced that its access devices and gateways have been made interoperable with a SIP-based IP PBX from Brekeke.

This 'stand alone' VoIP solution means Mediatrix can offer a simplified VoIP and PBX system which should allow customers to avoid problems which may emerge when setting up non-compatible devices.

"We are pleased to be working closely with Brekeke - their record of success, outstanding reputation, and expertise in VoIP technology and deployment makes them an ideal partner for the Mediatrix line of VoIP Gateways and Access Devices," said Philippe Babin, director of product line management for Mediatrix.

"Interoperability with Brekeke is a positive stepping stone to fuel Mediatrix's corporate strategy of providing fully integrated solutions that will meet the needs of both enterprises and service providers," he claimed.

Shin Yamade, chief executive of Brekeke Software was also optimistic about the tie-up, saying it was "long-awaited" and should "inspire greater confidence" in the service provided by his firm, which has already begun integrating Mediatrix's products with its SIP software.
