VoIP skills 'to be in demand'Posted 3 years 1 month ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2007-07-20 Rate this article: Communication industry analysts have suggested that workers with VoIP and other networking skills will be in high demand. A report from Forrester Research found that the number of network systems analysts grew by 11 per cent between 2005 and 2006, with further growth of twelve per cent predicted over the next two years. "This reflects the greater immediacy of investment in 2005 and 2006 in IP-based networks, wireless LANs and voice over IP," the report reads. The growth in these systems is fuelling demand for the technicians to run and develop them, Forrester reported and suggested there will be 6.6 per cent more jobs for network and computer systems administrators in 2007, followed by a further 6.2 per cent in 2008. Forrester's report explained the reason for the expansion in these jobs, saying: "With new technologies emerging to support digital business architectures, large companies are hiring the chief technology officers who can help them navigate this shift."
