Jajah cuts rates in UK, US and IndiaPosted 4 years 10 months ago in: General VoIP ![]() Telappliant News: 2007-07-19 Rate this article: In an effort to increase its customer base, VoIP provider Jajah has cut the charges for its service when calls are made between the UK, India and North America. Rates now range between 4.3p and 3.5p a minute, while it also offered more free minutes to customers who recommend the service to their friends and get them to sign up. Jajah is run completely online through a website, so users do not need to download any other software like other personal VoIP systems and it has already picked up around three million subscribers. It can be used to make calls using the user's own mobile or home phone, but by entering the number of the phone and that of the caller into the website a connection is made over VoIP which leads to much reduced call prices. While this has been identified by some commentators as a threat to the established telecoms providers around the world, the co-founder and chief executive of the firm, Roman Scharf, said: "We put money in the telcos pockets. We wouldn't have a fight with the telcos because they are established and strong." Related articlesShareComments![]() Be the first to write a comment! New comments* Comments may be moderated. |
