With growing numbers of telecoms solutions being launched in the market recently, it takes some banging of your own drum to get noticed.

And that is just what the founders of Ideal Telecoms have done, with bullish statements about how it is going to beat the competition's offerings.

Ideal is a joint venture from software developer Formjet and telecoms specialist Du-Tel, and will focus on providing telephony over the internet, as well as offering broadband and fixed line telephone systems.

"We are able to offer some fantastic deals to customers," said Du-Tel's co-founder Roger Houghton.

"Telecoms providers are ten a penny, so the differentiating factor has got to be customer service, and we know how to do this best."

With a business plan to target small and medium-sized companies and convince them of the benefits of VoIP through peak call rates of less than 1p a minute.

In addition, Ideal says it is planning to offer line rental at a price which is a fifth cheaper than market leader BT.

Lyndon Chapman, chairman at project partner Formjet, welcomed the launch saying that Ideal Telecoms will "deliver an 'unbeatable' combination, and we expect to make a significant mark in the ultra-competitive telecoms field very quickly".
