Digium partners with Bandwidth.com

A new partnership deal has been struck up between Asterisk-based VoIP systems manufacturer Digium and US business solutions provider Bandwidth.com.

The collaboration will see the companies share information and cooperate on new telecoms services and business platforms to improve systems for customers.

Bandwidth.com has been a long-term Digium customer and so has been added to its list of Premier Certified Service Providers.

Digium is a big proponent of sharing information in the technology sector and created the most widely-used software for managing telephone communications, Astrisk, before releasing it as an open source project.

Commenting on the collaboration, David Morken, president and chairman of Bandwidth.com, said: "We've enjoyed a strong relationship with Digium for three years, routinely deliver over 100 million voice minutes a month using Asterisk at the edge of our network and are on pace to double that number later this year.

"As the founder of Asterisk, Digium is vital to our operations and we felt now was the right time to formalize a partnership and put in place a framework for closer collaboration."
