Washington DC-based web creator yFonGlobal has added VoIP to the features it can offer on its social networks.

Companies wishing to embrace Web 2.0 and set up their own social network will now be able to add VoIP functionality if they choose one of yFonGlobal's services.

The sites will now feature a click-to-call function, similar to that available in newer versions of Microsoft Outlook, which allows users to make a VoIP call to their contacts without leaving the network.

But in an attempt to make the service as appealing as possible to businesses, it will not just be a simple VoIP client but will also include conferencing options and video communication features.

yFonGlobal hopes that companies will view the new feature on their social networks as a way to help create stronger bonds with contacts and uncover new sales opportunities more easily.

This follows the move into VoIP by popular social network Facebook which added an application called Jangl which creates private numbers for users, letting them call and talk to each other over the net.
