Planning important for IP telephony solutionsIt is vital to take time to plan IP telephony solutions, a representative from a managed services company has said. Tony Corlett, a product development director at Azzurri, said that businesses can sometimes focus too much on which solution is the most cost effective and has the lowest cost of ownership. However, despite the cost-saving advantages, there are many more benefits - as well as complications - to IP telephony solutions which should be thought about before a system is rolled out. Companies could end up paying more, as the costs of fixing a poorly-planned system add up. Mr Corlett says: "I would like a pound for every customer I have come across who has embarked on a particular platform that probably wasn't the right decision." Companies that don't invest time early "will of course end up investing the time and potentially the money further down the line as they discover things weren't exactly as they expected them to be", he added.
