Worldwide VoIP phone training launched by snom

The IP telephony specialist snom has announced it is to launch a worldwide training initiative aimed at dealers who wish to install snom VoIP phones and Asterisk hardware.

Many dealers have told snom that they would appreciate courses of this type and participation is dependent on buying a VoIP starter bundle.

Beginning on July 17th in Berlin, the sessions will be available via snom's partners worldwide in countries as distant as Switzerland and Australia.

Vice president of EMEA sales at snom, Oliver Wittig, has said there has already been a positive response and feels that the company is filling a gap in the market.

The company want to show how simple it is to set up a basic VoIP configuration using Asterisk systems and snom VoIP phones.

"When a few basic principles are observed, this installation can be realised just as well and as easily as in ISDN or DSL," notes Mr Wittig.

A next generation wideband handset has also just been launched by the company which can be adapted to all snom VoIP telephones.

The snom klarVOICE works with the G.722 codec which can shrink a voice channel's bit rate to 12.65kbps.
