Vodafone leaves mobile broadband rivals laggingVodafone customers consistently receive a faster mobile broadband service than that offered by other networks, according to a new study. Independent wireless engineering company LCC International found that consumers signed up to the firm's 1.2 Mbps packages can download a 2MB file up to 77 per cent quicker than comparable services with other operators. The research, based on 28,000 speed tests, also found that Vodafone is also up to 278 per cent faster in opening web pages. Neil Smith, vice president of LCC International, claimed that Vodafone's mobile broadband is "significantly faster and more reliable that other operators to both download files and load web pages". Jeni Mundy, CTO for Vodafone UK, added: "We are investing significantly in rolling out improved speed and capacity to new areas of the country, so even more customers will benefit from high-speed networks by the Autumn. And with our new USB modem pricing there has never been a better time to be with Vodafone." Posted on: 2008-06-16, in: Broadband |
