IT outsourcing 'saves time and money'

Firms should outsource their IT infrastructure in order to improve the cost efficiency of their operations, according to a technology services provider.

Dominic Monkhouse, managing director of ITlab, claimed that many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) face communication problems caused by a failure to employ an integrated IT platform.

He said: "This is not helping the business and is a bit like every member of a team speaking a different language."

"But if all this data is pulled together in one system it makes it easier to use, saves time and money, helps with reporting and ensures people can work from anywhere globally."

Mr Monkhouse suggested that a unified system could lead firms to witness a hike in sales of 40 per cent and costs reduction up to 70 per cent.

Colin Duffy, a council member of the Internet Telephony Services Providers' Association (ITSPA), recently argued that VoIP features such as voicemail could make it easier for SMEs to maintain contact with both employees and clients.
