Convergin scoops third successive VoIP award

Convergin, a supplier of fixed mobile convergence and service interaction solutions for voice over internet protocol (VoIP) systems, has won the Internet Telephony magazine Product of the Year award for the third consecutive time, the company has announced.

The company took the award for its Accolade WCS Service Capability Interaction Management application, which allows providers of fixed, mobile or cable services to add multimedia features and IP Multimedia Subsystems to their networks without having to deploy a new core or completely discard their existing system.

According to the company, this maximises the value of the existing infrastructure while minimising customer churn and provides clients with the opportunity to develop new IP features, such as next-generation video services.

Internet Telephony magazine editor-in-chief and president of the Technology Marketing Corporation Rich Tehrani said Convergin had proven it was "committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace".

Dr Ayal Itzkovitz, the company's president and chief executive, said he was "very pleased" to have won the award for the third year in a row and they would continue to develop more products "necessary to accelerate and smooth the transition to richer IP-based service offerings".

Convergin has been developing solutions for wireline and wireless service providers since 2001.
