VoIP product releases fuel market growthInnovation from VoIP product manufacturers boosted sales by 30 per cent in the second quarter compared to the previous year's figures, a report suggests. According to the Dell-Oro research group, which provides information on the telecoms industry, take-up of the technology by small businesses was driving the sector. Alan Weckel, senior analyst at the firm, said: "Suppliers continue to broaden their VoIP offerings to small and medium businesses. "Suppliers...continue to expand their development and sales efforts in order to better target smaller businesses with VoIP solutions." Examples of new technologies being provided by VoIP resellers in recent months include bespoke systems for small businesses and so-called unified communications networks which have recently attracted the attention of Microsoft. Mr Weckel added: "With recent product introductions and a renewed focus throughout the industry to sell VoIP solutions to small businesses, the migration to IP will continue to accelerate."
