VoIP launched for WiMAXUS-based VoIP firm HelloSoft has launched a new technology to work with WiMAX system-on-chip (SoC) designs, a wireless system which may serve as a future platform for voice communications to be carried over the web. This will enable manufacturers to create products that also have the capability to function over WiMAX and ensure they are prepared for the onward march of technology towards widespread wireless VoIP systems. "HelloSoft is paving the way for mass deployment of VoIP over WiMAX by providing the most optimised VoIP solutions for WiMAX SoCs," said Krishna Yarlagadda, founder and president of the firm. He added that his company was "excited" to be bringing this technology, via a "low-cost solution", to the market and said: " The launching of our VoIP for WiMAX SoCs program enables WiMAX semiconductor manufacturers to add VoIP to their WiMAX designs for a complete VoWiMAX product running on a single-chip solution." HelloSoft's technologies currently feature in VoIP products ranging from IP phones to VoIP gateways, as well as voice processing systems to reduce echo and improve call signal strength and reliability.
