Panasonic release VoIP home phone

Fixed line home phone users will be able to join the VoIP revolution thanks to a new cordless phone from Panasonic.

The Japanese manufacture's range of Globarange dual VoIP and fixed line phones allow users to make calls over the net or via regular networks without having to be connected up to a computer.

Panasonic said that its new range will exclusively use a new VoIP service provided by deltathree, which will give unlimited, free VoIP calls between all Globarange users around the world.

Features of the three phones in the range differ depending on the needs of their intended users.

The home office model, for example, is the most feature-filled with a 45-minute digital answerphone as well as a numberpad on the base station to allow calls to be made on speakerphone.

Panasonic's Globaphone range will go on sale in August, with prices starting at around £80.
