BT launches 'understanding VoIP' guideExperts at telecommunications company BT have released a new guide for smaller companies to highlight the benefits of VoIP. In an effort to promote the internet protocol service as a possible replacement for traditional lines, the booklet titled Understanding VoIP explains how businesses can take advantage of the communications system. "A quarter of small businesses in the UK are already using VoIP services, but that means the vast majority still aren't," said Bill Murphy, the managing director of BT Business. "What we're showing with this guide isn't just how to make calls over the internet, but the real benefits it can bring to smaller companies." Mr Murphy explained that the guide shows how the benefits of VoIP go further than simple cost savings, but that it also let companies create a more flexible and mobile workforce, which can mean increased levels of productivity and efficiency for only a small financial outlay. "As well as that, VoIP starts small businesses on a journey towards unified communications by bringing everything together in one place," Mr Murphy added. Posted on: 2007-06-20, in: General VoIP |
