Host a VoIP service without changing tech partner?A new service from Viatel will give voice re-sellers the ability to locate IP PBX systems in their secure premises - meaning they can offer a hosted VoIP service without changing their technology partner. Using a system on their premises should streamlining and centralising the management of the service as well as cut time wasted travelling to customers' offices to deal with maintenance problems, Viatel claims. "VoIP uptake is growing very quickly, and in the last few years, data resellers have been faster to offer the service than traditional voice resellers," said Neil Watson, channel director for Viatel. "It is a difficult time for voice resellers, but these new services will help them to move to VoIP without losing their legacy revenues." Mr Watson added that the service can be easily expanded to add data transfers to a reseller's product portfolio. "In today's competitive market, it is essential for resellers to investigate new ways of maximising profits from traditional revenue streams whilst also seeking ways to offer and grow margins from new converged services," he said. Viatel's PBX service use the company's Next Generation IP Network and has the capacity to allow voice resellers to put multiple customers in a PBX service in one secure place.
